[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Doll Named KCAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Comments

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Lauren Doll has been selected as the KCAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Feb. 17).

Doll put in a pair spectacular and conference-pacing efforts this past weekend at the Pitt State Gorilla Classic.

Her 5.52m tally in the Long Jump is an NAIA "B" National Qualifying mark and ranks No. 1 this season in the KCAC.

The Leon, Kan. native then recorded an 11.45m Triple Jump that hit the NAIA "A" Standard mark and is also tops in the KCAC.

"Lauren has had a great indoor season so far, being one of the most versatile athletes we have on the team," Friends head coach Henry Brun said. "Her hard work has paid off, with her not only qualifying for nationals in both horizontal jumps but also in the pentathlon once again. She is more than deserving of this acknowledgment."

Last season's KCAC Women's Indoor Athlete of the Meet as part of the Falcons' fifth straight conference indoor championship, Doll appears to have things rolling again this year.

"As the women's program looks to repeat as indoor conference champions, she will be a significant contributor to our team success," Brun said.

Doll and the Falcons are now gearing up to compete in those KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for Friday and Saturday (Feb. 21-22) at the Heskett Center facility on the campus of Wichita State University.
