Comments

WICHITA – For the second consecutive week, Friends University junior Christa Follette has earned the KCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor, the league announced today (Oct. 10).

"Christa again reminds all of us that her values of faith, hard work, courage and character are simply the things she wants to live out in her life," Friends head coach Jason Parr said.

"She continues to display these value each day at practice as well as on the course.  We are fortunate to have such a tremendous leader who is so unselfish in what she does.   Christa will continue to improve because of the goals and expectations she sets for herself and the team. "

A Grinnell, Iowa native, Follette posted another terrific time of 18:46 in the Fort Hays State Tiger Open last Saturday (Oct. 7) to finish second overall out of 159 individual runners.

Follette's solid time also helped the Falcons to a third overall finish in the Women's 5K Black race.

The Women's Cross Country Falcons, who are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, will now be gearing up to compete in the KCAC Championships, to be held on Nov. 4 in Lindsborg, Kan.
