[Women's Cross Country] Follette Named KCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the WeekPublished by
WICHITA -- Friends University junior Christa Follette (JR/Grinnell, Iowa) has been selected as the KCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced today (Oct. 4). Follette ran a time of 18:46 to finish 56th out of 289 college division runners at last Saturday's (Sept. 30) Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. Earlier this season, Follette helped the Falcons win the college division race at the JK Gold Classic (Sept. 2) and then finish fourth at the Missouri Southern Stampede (Sept. 16). "Christa is so deserving of this honor and we are so proud of her that she represents Friends University Cross Country in such a positive way," head coach Jason Parr said. "She is such a tremendous leader for this group of Falcon ladies and continues to display an attitude of unselfishness each day by continually caring for her teammates. As a coach we look for these opportunities to see such great character in a young person. WIthout a doubt, Christa puts that on display each day." Follette and the Falcons will next compete at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open on Saturday (Oct. 7) in Victoria, Kan. Read the full article at: www.friendsathletics.com
