[Track and Field] Eight Falcon Track Athletes Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Four female and four male Friends athletes were named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes as announced by the national office last Saturday.

On the women's side Connie Collins (Sr., Magnolia, Ohio), Megan Duggins (Sr., Wichita, Kan.), Ashley Lyons (Sr., Wichita, Kan.) and Rachel Renken (Sr., Downs, Kan.) were named. On the men's side, Trevor Biedron (Sr., Wichita, Kan.), Stephen Buesch (Sr., Wichita, Kan.), Mitchell Heller (Jr., Lenexa, Kan.), and Mattox Wade (Sr., Haviland, Kan.) were honored.

The four women joined 14 other recipients from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. Ottawa and Tabor tied the Falcons with a conference leading four members. The four men were joined by 12 others in the KCAC. Tabor led the conference with six.

Athletes must be nominated by their institution's head coach or sports information director and maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point aveage while being at least a junior academically. A total of 337 women and 233 men in the nation were honored this season.
