[Men's Indoor Track & Field] Wells Captures KCAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award

Comments

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomore Brayden Wells has been selected as the KCAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Jan. 27).

Wells broke the school record and finished second in the Weight Throw this past weekend at the Northwest Open with a throw of 17.58m.

A Wichita native, Wells' mark hits the NAIA "A" Standard and ranks first in the KCAC and ninth in the NAIA.

"Brayden's focus and diligence in training throughout this indoor season has really paid off, with him making some huge strides in the weight throw," Friends head coach Henry Brun said.

"His goal this season has been to make the leap in being competitive at the national level and I firmly believe that he will continue to improve with hopes of being an All-American by the Indoor National Championships."

Wells and the Falcons are next set to compete at the Bill Butterworth Masters Classic at Wichita State University on Friday (Jan. 31).
