WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Christa Titus (SR/Grinnell, Iowa) and freshman Jonathan Jones (FR/Derby, Kan. ) have each been selected as the KCAC Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced today (Sept. 11).

Titus and Jones each put together solid performances to help the Falcons win both the women's and men's meet at the Warrior Fest Invite this past Saturday (Sept. 8) in Sterling, Kan.

In the women's event, Titus came in second overall with a time of 19:11 in the 5K.

"I'm extremely proud of Christa for stepping up and being such a great leader for our squad," head coach Jason Parr said.  "When Christa decides to check it in she can do some great things on the cross-country course.  She has such an amazing abundant of talent."

Jones also recorded a second place overall showing, coming in with a time of 27:10 in the 8K.

"I'm really proud of the way Jonathan ran for our Men's Falcon team this week," Parr said.

"He works extremely hard each day and has set some great goals for the season.  I love that he has no fear in racing.  I know Jonathan will put himself out there every race and make the best of it.  I'm truly excited for the things to come for him."
